Brampton

A parish in Eskdale ward, Cumberland; A civil parish created in 1883 by the union of the townships of Brampton, Easby & Naworth.
St Martin’s was constructed in about 1874 on the site of a 17th century hospital that had been converted into a chapel around 1789.
The old Brampton Church was some distance away and had been constructed on the site of an old Roman Fort in about the 12th century.
