Cumbria FHS
With the closure of the Rootsweb mail lists, Cumbria FHS are providing a similar Mail List facility for some of those lists that concern Cumbria. These lists are for WESTMORLAND and CUMBRIA .
These lists are available to anyone you do not have to be a member of the Society to use them.
If you were an existing subscriber to any of these lists now on the CFHS website, you will be sent an invitation to join the new lists, it is important to note you will not be automatically transferred to the new list, this can not be done for data protection reasons, you will need to take the action detailed in the invitation to join. The lists will operate in exactly the same way as the Rootsweb lists, the only difference is that you must use the new email address for all messages to the list. If you are not currently a member you can join by clicking on the appropriate list below.

Note if you are happy to use the list in its default mode, which will work in the same way as the old Rootsweb list did, then you do not need to make any changes and you can just continue to use it with the new email address.

There are two ways to change your options in the list, either by email or by using your personal control panel.
The control panel log in links for each list are given in the individual list details above, however you will need your own password to gain access. This will have been sent to you when you joined the new list but if you have mislaid it then you can get your password by using the Get Password l ink in the instructions for the relevant site above.
From the administration panel you can log in as well as unsubscribe or get a password reminder.

There are many options you can select for your account, for example you can turn off delivery for a period whilst you are away or you can go into digest mode for the messages. However if you just want to use the list in its default mode then you do not have to do anything in your control panel.
