Problem with longer messages

Hello
I've noticed for a while now that when I post a lengthy mail on here, when you get further down the page typing the message the page jumps up a few lines and you can't see what you have just typed. You then have to move the right hand bar back down to where you were typing and carry on and it then jumps up again as soon as you stop typing - so often you are typing blind.
I thought it was just me, but I was talking to someone else and they had the same problem. I use Windows XP.

The problem is with Internet Explorer version 8 which seems to deal with message boxes differently to version 7.
Until the forum software developers come up with a new release (they actually have but I can't install it yet for technical reasons) the solution is to put IE8 into IE7 mode, to do this there is a little icon looks like a torn page next to the address line and to the left of the refresh (double arrow) icon, click on this to go to IE7 mode, but do it before you type anything as the page refreshes and you will lose anything you already typed.
John
UPDATE I just modified a header to force IE8 to IE7 mode which should resolve the issue on a temporary basis until this fix can be made. Note this problem is with IE8 not the board software and we are waiting for Microsoft to fix it.

Not a problem I have Jean ... if I type more than four lines, my hands start getting tired.
(plus ... my browser is Firefox)

Many thanks John
Maybe a good way to control my ramblings and for me to cut to the chase
. I sometimes type the reply in Word then paste onto the board, which does overcome the problem. I upgraded to IE 8 a while back.
Geoff
If you decide to put in another 2 lines, then surely a good excuse to have a lie down
