MAY2010 NEWSLETTER
The May newsletter has just gone to the printers and should be sent out in early May.
You can download and view the first two pages of the Newsletter so you can see what is coming at the lower right of this page
This however does bring up an important point, please see the details below from last year, the same still applies. There is a vast amount of work for the Voluntary Membership Secretary to carry out each year to reconcile the Standing Order payments which come in without names or membership numbers and each year. Many have not changed thier standing order for the correct amount for renewal. A reminder will be printed in the May Newsletter, please ensure you keep your standing order amount at the correct level. Even after the Newsletter reminder, many will not respond or pay the outstanding amount, this means it is necessary to mail them, even more work and cost which will have to be absorbed by the society.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note the decision of the Council is that if you have not paid the full correct fee you will only get the first two issues of the newsletter each year. Please see the following paragraphs for reasons you may have inadvertently underpaid. If not fully paid the May issue is the last one you will get each year.
It is important to note that if you pay by standing order then you must ensure that this order is changed with your bank for the correct current subscription. The society can not change the amount when any change to subscription takes place, so if you have not changed your standing order to the correct current amount the above paragraph will apply. For current subscription rates please
Click Here. If you have underpaid for the year then you must send a cheque for the remainder of the subscription clearly showing your full name and address and membership number (Available from the label on the Newsletter) before 30th April 2010 or you will not receive the remainder of the issues for the year.
In addition each year there are a number of standing orders that are received which may be for the correct amount, but the paying institution do not forward the payers details, so the subscription does not get renewed. If
you are sure you have paid the right amount by standing order and are still not getting your newsletter
then please first check with your bank to make sure they have sent your details with the subscription.
If they have, then please send as much detail as you can, date paid, name of bank , sorting code and
any payment reference, so we can try and identify your payment.
